The Atlanta Hawks are a team of players your average fan may not know, but should definitely learn about. The point guard position in the NBA is deepest position in the NBA. Just this past offseason, Coach K couldn’t decide between Steph Curry, Derrick Rose, Damian Lillard, Kyrie Irving, and John Wall. Every sport has that one position that is essential to a team’s success and progression. Most would agree that in football it’s the quarterback, in hockey and soccer it’s the goalie, and in baseball it’s pitching. In basketball, the most essential position to a team’s success is the point guard position. I am a little bias in saying this, being a former college point guard, but nonetheless I think the point guard position in college basketball is more important to a team’s success than any position in any sport.
